At Kustpark Strand Westende and in the vicinity of the campsite there are plenty of activities and outdoor sports for both children and adults. As a guest at Kustpark Strand Westende you can take part in the entertainment programme organised by the recreation team of Kompas Camping.
In the surrounding area you can make wonderful walking and cycling trips. You can discover the beautiful Belgian coast on foot during your holiday. Many guests of Kustpark Strand Westende take their bikes and make beautiful trips along the coast and through the surrounding polders. The outdoor sports on offer at the coast mainly make use of the recreational opportunities offered by the beach and the sea.
For children, there is entertainment on the campsite in high season (Belgian school vacations). A central role in the animation team is played by Kasper, a friendly marine mammal. He enthusiastically invites children from 6 to 12 years old to join him on an adventure. How about getting creative, doing crafts or painting? Most activities are included for our guests. You can pick up the weekly program at the Kompas reception.
At Surfclub De Kwinte in Westende you can practice water sports like surfing, windsurfing, beach sailing and sea rafting. Join an instruction day or rent your equipment here. The water sports center is open from the Easter vacations through September on weekends. In July and August it is open every day. You undertake the activities on your own initiative and are not included as a guest of our coastal park.
Canoeing is known to many people as a river-based activity. Canoeing at sea can also be done, but is not comparable to canoeing on a river. The waves provide a new experience. First, try to brave the surf and stay in control of the waves. You can do this for example in Westende (Beachclub De Kwinte) and in Ostend (Ostend Sailing & Phare East).
